COSINE [2018]
The concept behind Cosine stems from the idea that knowledge is in constant flux. The sine waves seen in the design signify irregular fluctuations. This design won a class competition and was fabricated and installed in a quiet study space in the Ryerson Library, located next to the Ryerson Archives and Special Collections. The felt installation takes its form from a variety of ideas, some of these being: DNA, landscapes, sine waves and the curvature of an open book. The interiors of the felt waves contain similar structures but are made of red felt and these waves are displayed perpendicular to the sine waves.
